The first game in the series, Armored Core, was released in 1997, while the most recent, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, will be released in 2023. Several story continuities exist, spread across 13 main games, seven spin-offs, and three remastered re-releases. Some games include an "Arena" mode in which the player fights other Armored Core pilots in head-to-head battles, which can reward the player with further income or prestige.
